The Hematite flows through the Clear Quartz in sweeping, organic ribbons rather than scattered flecks, giving this piece a painterly quality that makes it genuinely hard to put down. Hematoid Quartz forms when iron-rich hydrothermal fluids penetrate Clear Quartz during or after crystallisation, depositing Hematite (iron oxide, Fe₂O₃) within the Quartz matrix. The depth of red in any given specimen reflects the concentration and form of the Hematite present — where it is dense and well-distributed, as in this piece, the result is the kind of deep, flowing red that collectors actively seek out. The palmstone shape is smooth and tactile, shaped to sit comfortably in the hand.
