Flower Agate is a variety of Chalcedony discovered in Madagascar in 2018, and it has become one of the most sought-after stones of recent years for good reason. The flower-like formations are three-dimensional plumes of opaque pink and white Chalcedony suspended within a translucent pink base, visible from the surface as circular or petal-shaped inclusions that genuinely resemble blossoms frozen in stone. They form as silica-rich fluids infiltrate cavities in volcanic rock, with the plumes nucleating and growing outward as the material slowly crystallises. The heart shape is a natural choice for this stone — it sits comfortably in the palm and the cut showcases the plume patterning beautifully.
