Safe to water cleanse? No, Halloysite is too soft

A gorgeous discovery from the ‘Emerald District’ in Quipama Boyaca region in Colombia. Mango Quartz AKA Corona Quartz (due to the golden crown formation on clusters) AKA Halloysite Quartz. The formation occurred 66-100 million years ago within a bed of limestone, the overall formation has been thought to be around 33 million years. Initially discovered by Don Victor Carranza aka ‘Emerald Czar’ in the late 1980’s. He was mining for Emerald and all the other gorgeous crystals he found were all discarded, apart from Mango Quartz that he all kept to himself! He was, some say, mistakenly arrested in ‘the war on drugs’ in 1998 but was released later on and died eventually in 2013. During this time the mine was sealed off and completely forgotten about until 2017 when grandchildren of a local famer stumbled upon the mine! To qualify as Mango Quartz, the crystal must have the yellow inclusions, the Halloysite, within the Quartz as opposed to only a coating. Spiritually the main properties of Mango Quartz are bringing joy, happiness and empowerment. This is a fantastic crystal if you feel you need a pick-me-up or a confidence boost. We highly recommend to meditate with Mango Quartz with the aim for self-trust and strength to bring you these energies.
