A substantial green onyx tower from India with exceptional banding — one of the most painterly examples of this material we have handled.

The colour story runs from a warm amber-orange crown, through bands of sage and celadon green, into a series of fine terracotta, coral, and dusty rose stripes across the mid-section, before settling into a cool, translucent pale green at the base. The banding is fluid and organic, with each layer varying in width and intensity — no two faces read the same. The polish is high and glassy, allowing light to pass through the thinner sections and illuminate the layering from within. At 25 × 9.4 × 7.7cm and 3.24kg, this is a commanding display piece.

Please note: this piece has minor surface chips near the tip and at the base, visible in the listing photos and reflected in the price. These are small and do not detract from the overall beauty of the tower.

This 1.2kg tower (27.5x5.3x4cm) from China features natural cavities formed during the mineral's development when areas of the crystal structure grew unevenly or surrounding material dissolved away. Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral developing in hydrothermal environments, its wide range of colours and internal zoning produced by trace elements and growth conditions.

A vivid example of anthropogenic chalcanthite — copper sulphate crystals grown through industrial or mining processes rather than natural geological formation, making each specimen a striking intersection of chemistry and colour.

The front face is densely encrusted with rosette clusters of deep cobalt and electric blue chalcanthite crystals, their bladed, fan-like formations catching light with an almost metallic shimmer. Turquoise-green malachite coats the host matrix across the sides and reverse, creating a layered mineral landscape of oxidised copper minerals. A near-kilogram malachite stalactite from the Democratic Republic of Congo — one of the world's great copper-belt localities and the source of some of the finest malachite specimens in existence.

The surface is covered entirely in tightly packed botryoidal orbs ranging from small, intricate formations to large, rounded domes, all in a vivid, saturated emerald green. Each orb has a characteristic concentric centre, visible across the specimen, giving the surface an almost cellular quality. At the top, a natural cavity reveals a cluster of druzy crystals in silver-grey — a striking contrast to the green exterior. The reverse shows the raw, unformed underside of the stalactite, with pale matrix and additional malachite growth.
