A substantial rubellite tourmaline crystal from Brazil, with exceptional translucency for a specimen of this size.

The prism is broad and columnar, with deeply striated faces running the full length of the crystal. Colour zones from vivid raspberry-pink on the front face — almost glowing under light — to deep wine-burgundy on the reverse, with dark inclusions threading through the interior. The termination end is naturally cleaved rather than faceted, giving it a raw, unworked character.
