A striking Tisbury Starstone cabochon from Wiltshire, UK, with a distinctive sail-like shape — one edge straight, one gently rounded — that gives this piece an elegant, architectural quality. Tisbury Starstone is a fossilised coral found exclusively in the ancient soils of Tisbury, Wiltshire, formed approximately 145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic period when this part of England lay beneath a warm, shallow sea. The characteristic star-like patterns are the preserved skeletal structures of coral polyps, their intricate geometry locked in stone over millions of years of gradual mineralisation. It is composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), hardness 3–4 Mohs. Handle with care — fossilised coral is fragile and should not be dropped or knocked against harder surfaces.

Spiritually, Tisbury Starstone is associated with the Crown Chakra, celestial connection, and ancient wisdom. It is said to act as a bridge between the earthly and the ethereal, inviting clarity, higher awareness, and a sense of wonder at the deep continuity of life on Earth.

A teardrop-form astrophyllite cabochon with an unusually dark, dramatic face.

The astrophyllite content is exceptionally dense in this piece — deep black blades and fine needle-like crystals dominate the face, with only small areas of the creamy feldspar host visible at the edges and crown. Warm bronze-copper metallic threads run through the dark mass, catching the light with a subtle flash. The profile shows the contrast clearly — dark astrophyllite-rich face against a lighter, speckled reverse. Polished to a smooth dome with a flat back.

From the celebrated Huanggang Mine in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia — a piece that goes beyond the typical blueberry fluorite specimen, revealing a rare hollow quartz geode interior beneath its dramatic indigo exterior.

The front face is densely packed with large, rounded botryoidal fluorite nodules in deep midnight blue, their surfaces carrying a high resinous lustre with occasional violet undertones where light catches the curved forms. Scattered white druzy quartz crystals push through the fluorite crust, dusting the dark surface with bright mineral snow. Turn the piece to reveal its most remarkable feature: a hollow geode cavity lined with smoky grey quartz crystals and white chalcedony — the fluorite fringing the opening in a vivid indigo border, like a window into the piece’s formation.

Moqui Marbles formed within the Navajo Sandstone formations of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, where mineral-rich groundwater deposited iron minerals around sandstone over thousands to millions of years. The interior is sandstone while the outer surface is composed primarily of Hematite and other iron oxides, sometimes with traces of Pyrite.

Traditionally used in meditation and energy practices to support connection with the Earth. When used as a male and female pair, the flatter stone is considered masculine energy and the rounder smoother stone feminine, holding one in each hand believed to bring energetic balance.

A truly exceptional Rhodonite & Rhodochrosite tower from Peru — at 39cm tall and 4.4kg, this is a centrepiece piece in every sense.

The surface is a warm, saturated rose-pink, threaded throughout with swirling white veins of calcite matrix and punctuated by sharp black manganese oxide dendrites. The patterning is dense and complex — no two areas of the tower look the same. The base is broad and stable at 8.2cm, tapering to a crisp 4cm point at the apex, with a high, even polish that brings out the full depth of colour across all four faces.

Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate mineral (MnSiO₃) that forms in metamorphic environments, often alongside rhodochrosite (MnCO₃), a manganese carbonate. The two minerals share a similar manganese-rich chemistry producing their characteristic pink-to-rose colouration. The black veining is manganese oxide, formed as the minerals oxidised over time.
