    Pink Halite CrystalThis captivating beauty is a truly magnificent crystal! It is a type of common salt, composed of Sodium Chlorite and water. The pinkish colour is from incorporation of pigments (carotenoids) in halophilic archaea and algae that lived in the water. Pink Halite is found in dried out salt lakes and ancient oceans, our favourite deposit is the Searles Lake in California, USA, an endorheic dry lake. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek word for salt - ἅλς (háls).
