From the Shangulowe Mine in Kambove, one of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s most celebrated copper belt localities — a source renowned for producing some of the finest malachite specimens in the world.

This piece has a distinctly different character to its companion — an elongated, blade-like form with dramatic barite crystals projecting outward from the malachite host, giving it a spiky, architectural silhouette. The front face is covered in vivid emerald-green botryoidal malachite with tightly packed orbs and characteristic concentric banding, interspersed with glassy colourless barite crystals. The reverse reveals the raw banded underside — sweeping teal and green malachite layers with areas of earthy matrix. Presented on an acrylic museum-style display stand.

This 98g sphere (4.2cm diameter) from the Korshunovskoye iron ore deposit in Siberia, Russia, one of the only sources of this rare mineral in the world. Seraphinite is a rare variety of Clinochlore belonging to the Chlorite mineral group, its intense green colouring from its iron and magnesium silicate composition, with its characteristic silky sheen the result of densely packed microscopic crystal fibres.

Scattered across the surface are druzy pockets where the mineral opened up during formation, leaving tiny crystalline orbs glittering in the cavities — the signature orbicular texture that makes Ocean Jasper unlike any other Jasper variety. Warm amethyst-violet at the core, shifting to amber-citrine and dusty rose across the upper points, the main stalactitic columns are encrusted from base to tip in hundreds of tiny druzy quartz crystals, each one catching light with a fine, sugary sparkle. The colour zoning is exceptional — deep purple at the terminations fading through caramel-brown to pale lavender at the druzy tips. Acquired from an old private collection, this is one of the more quietly extraordinary pieces in the group. The base colour is a pale lilac, soft and cool, scattered with small orbs that sit delicately across the surface with just hints of pink and yellow breaking through. But the feature that makes this piece genuinely special is a larger area of translucent green quartz that appears to have captured white orbs within it — as though the orbs were forming and the quartz grew around them, preserving them mid-process. The whole area is druzy, sparkling with tiny crystalline texture that catches the light from every angle.

It is the kind of geological detail that is difficult to fully describe and even harder to photograph. In person it has a depth and luminosity that makes it feel more like a window into the stone than a surface.
