Each piece shares the same dramatic character: tightly packed rhombohedral cobaltoan calcite crystals in a rich, saturated raspberry to crimson-pink, densely coated with bright emerald-green malachite that sits in the recesses and across the crystal faces like a fine dusting of colour. The reverse of each piece reveals the raw grey-white matrix — striated, layered, and sparkly — showing the natural cleavage of the host rock.
