This 362g sphere (6.5cm diameter) formed within a silica-rich Brazilian geode environment, where hydrothermal processes allowed each mineral to develop its own distinct character depending on trace elements present during formation. A truly one of a kind collector piece.

Seriphos Quartz is a rare and striking form of green Quartz found only on the Greek island of Serifos in the Aegean Sea. Known for its vivid colour and sharply defined crystal shapes, it is one of the most distinctive regional Quartz varieties in the world.

Seriphos Quartz forms within metamorphic rocks that have been altered by intense heat and pressure deep within the Earth. During this process, hot mineral rich fluids move through fractures in the rock and begin to crystallise. The colouring can range from soft pale green to deep olive or even bluish tones depending on the specific balance of mineral inclusions and geological conditions at the time of formation. Seriphos Quartz is found exclusively on Serifos, where historic mining sites exposed pockets of beautifully formed crystals perched on matrix or growing in radiating clusters.
