This 16.60g specimen (45x30x19mm) displays clearly visible wood grain, deep brown tones, and a fine metallic sparkle where minerals have replaced the original organic structure atom by atom. The Zwenkau lignite deposits date to the Eocene epoch, placing this fragment at approximately 35 to 45 million years old.

Fossilised wood carries the quiet energy of deep time, associated with patience, grounding, and an ancient connection to the natural world.

Malachite Spheres | 2–2.5cm | Congo

High quality polished Malachite spheres from Congo, each displaying the bold concentric banding and rich emerald green that this mineral is celebrated for.

Each sphere is intuitively chosen for you. Sizes range from approximately 2cm to 2.5cm — please see the photos for a sense of the variation. The banding patterns on each piece are entirely unique, formed by the natural growth of Malachite stalactites, which when cut and polished reveal their characteristic rings and flowing stripes. No two spheres will look the same.

Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral that forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidation zones of copper deposits, where copper-rich groundwater reacts slowly with surrounding rock over thousands of years. The stalactitic growth habit — the same process that forms cave stalactites — produces the concentric rings and eye patterns that make Malachite so visually distinctive. Congolese Malachite is among the finest in the world, known for its deep, saturated green and well-defined banding.

Traditionally associated with transformation, protection, and emotional clarity, Malachite resonates with the Heart Chakra and is often chosen to support growth, awareness, and the courage to change.

A permineralised wood specimen from Zwenkau, Leipzig, Germany, where millions of years of silicification have transformed ancient timber into solid mineral, with every grain, knot, and bark ridge preserved in extraordinary detail.

Deep chocolate-brown throughout, the surface retains the full texture of the original wood: vertical grain lines run the length of the piece, a natural concave profile at the crown echoes the living tree's form, and the outer bark edge is intact on one side. Catch it in direct light and the surface comes alive with a fine copper-gold mineral sparkle, iron pyrite or goethite dusting embedded within the silica matrix. The contrast between the rough, fibrous bark face and the smoother inner wood face gives this piece real sculptural presence.
