The piece is a deep, opaque brown with a striking metallic sheen across the primary prism faces, where the surface catches light with an almost graphitic lustre. Strong vertical striations run the full length of the crystal, and the naturally bevelled termination shows clean, well-defined facets. The reverse and sides reveal a more textured, granular surface with pale white matrix threading through the cleavage planes.
