The piece has an irregular, naturally formed silhouette, with stepped crystal faces and softly rounded areas shifting from pale champagne to richer amber-brown. Light moves through the thinner sections to reveal the mineral’s internal depth, while the more densely formed areas have a bright, resinous to adamantine lustre. This specimen is also UV reactive, revealing another side to the mineral under ultraviolet light. The specimen is presented on a clear acrylic display stand and secured with removable white tack.

This 332g sphere (6.2cm diameter) formed in volcanic rock cavities in Brazil. Each orb developed as chalcedony crystallised outward from a central nucleation point over millions of years, producing the distinctive tactile texture that covers much of this piece.
