Mookaite is a variety of jasper (SiO₂) formed through the gradual deposition of silica and mineral-rich waters over millions of years. Named after Mooka Creek in Western Australia — its only known source — it has a Mohs hardness of 6.5–7 and a trigonal crystal system. Each piece varies in colour distribution and patterning, as is natural.
