Seriphos Quartz is a rare and striking form of green Quartz found only on the Greek island of Serifos in the Aegean Sea. Known for its vivid colour and sharply defined crystal shapes, it is one of the most distinctive regional Quartz varieties in the world.

Seriphos Quartz forms within metamorphic rocks that have been altered by intense heat and pressure deep within the Earth. During this process, hot mineral rich fluids move through fractures in the rock and begin to crystallise. The colouring can range from soft pale green to deep olive or even bluish tones depending on the specific balance of mineral inclusions and geological conditions at the time of formation. Seriphos Quartz is found exclusively on Serifos, where historic mining sites exposed pockets of beautifully formed crystals perched on matrix or growing in radiating clusters.

The shades shift across the batch: from a strong, saturated sky blue through to a softer, greener blue — the kind of variation that makes each piece genuinely individual. The surface is raw and natural, with the texture and matrix that only rough material has. At 3–4cm, these are generous, substantial pieces — beautiful to hold, display, or work with in practice.

A verdelite tourmaline crystal from Brazil — the green variety of tourmaline, valued for its rich colour and natural prismatic form.

A blocky, well-formed column with a distinctly olive-green sheen across the termination face — warm and earthy in ambient light, deepening to a richer forest green under direct illumination. The torch shot reveals the interior is translucent and saturated with colour throughout. Strong vertical striations run the length of the crystal, and the naturally irregular termination is unworked and entirely natural.

A sculptural grouping of honey-amber fluorite crystals rising from a dark, contrasting baryte matrix — a naturally dramatic combination that makes this a standout display piece. Sourced from the Xiefang Mine, Jiangxi, China.

Warm amber and golden-brown fluorite cubes stack and interlock in a tiered formation, their faces showing a high vitreous lustre with strong internal translucency. The colour deepens toward a rich tobacco-brown at the crystal cores, lightening to clear yellow-gold at the edges and terminations. The base matrix is notably dark — a dense, granular baryte with a near-black manganese-stained surface — creating a vivid contrast against the glowing fluorite above. The reverse reveals raw cleavage planes and stepped crystal growth.

The astrophyllite content is exceptionally dense in this piece — deep black blades and fine needle-like crystals dominate the face, with only small areas of the creamy feldspar host visible at the edges and crown. Warm bronze-copper metallic threads run through the dark mass, catching the light with a subtle flash. Hypersthene is a member of the Pyroxene mineral family, forming within igneous and metamorphic rocks as magnesium and iron-rich minerals crystallise under high temperature conditions. Its name comes from the Greek for above strength. When light moves across the surface, Hypersthene often reveals a soft silvery flash known as schiller, created by light reflecting from internal mineral layers.
