This Ginkgo Leaf fossil  originates from the Sentinel Butte Formation, Morton County, North Dakota. The fossil preserves the distinctive fan shaped leaf form of the Ginkgo tree, with visible vein structure that reflects its botanical origin.

Fossilisation occurred when fallen leaves became buried in sediment, where mineral rich conditions gradually preserved the leaf impression over millions of years. The Sentinel Butte Formation is known for its well preserved plant fossils and offers insight into prehistoric environments.

Agate is a banded variety of Chalcedony (a cryptocrystalline form of silica), which is primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks. Because they love to form on or within pre-existing rocks it is hard to accurately determine the time of their formation. Agate was named by the Greek philosopher and naturalist Theophrastus, who discovered it along the shore line of the Dirillo River or Achates in Sicily (between the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE).

Charoite is one of the rarest minerals on Earth, found in only one location: the Murun massif in Siberia, Russia, along the Chara River from which it takes its name. The violet colour, which ranges from pale lavender to deep purple, is intrinsic to the mineral itself. The quartz body is largely clear to milky white, shot through with soft blue-green Ajoite inclusions that pool and drift in wispy, cloud-like formations. The colour sits somewhere between seafoam and pale teal, deepening where the inclusions concentrate and fading to near-transparency at the edges. Ocean Jasper Palmstone | 5.8cm | Madagascar

Acquired from an old private collection, this Ocean Jasper palmstone is a study in green — and it offers two distinct readings depending on which face you look at, with the banding running vertically on both sides.

One side is the more complex of the two: green orbs are the dominant presence, but pink and white colouring threads through them, softening the green and adding warmth. Scattered across this face are a few tiny pockets of translucent quartz, small and sparkling, that catch the light and add a quiet mineral detail to the surface.

The other side is cleaner and more graphic: green orbs again, this time with creamy banding running in vertical sweeps through the piece, giving it a structured, almost striped quality that contrasts nicely with the more varied face opposite.

Flower Agate Flame | 5.8cm | Madagascar

A sweet, characterful Flower Agate flame from Madagascar — small enough to hold in one hand, and full of the soft pink plume patterning this stone is loved for. One piece, sold as seen.

This piece has a natural cavity on the surface, clearly visible in the photos. It is a natural feature of the stone formed during crystallisation and adds to the individuality of this particular piece.

Flower Agate is a variety of Chalcedony discovered in Madagascar in 2018. The flower-like formations are three-dimensional plumes of opaque pink and white Chalcedony suspended within a translucent pink base — visible from the surface as circular, petal-shaped inclusions that genuinely resemble blossoms frozen in stone. They form as silica-rich fluids infiltrate cavities in volcanic rock, with the plumes nucleating and growing outward as the material slowly crystallises. The flame cut showcases the plume patterning along the full length of the piece, with the point drawing the eye upward through the layers of colour.
