The piece is deep, opaque brown with strong vertical striations running the full length of the prism faces and a naturally stepped termination at the top. The reverse shows a more complex, etched surface with pale white matrix threading through the cleavage — a contrast that highlights the crystal's natural growth history. The base is raw and unworked. At 3.2 × 2.9 × 1.7cm it stands confidently upright on its included acrylic display stand, secured with a small amount of white tack that is easily removed.

From an unlabelled private collection — this substantial egg in Ruby in Serpentine carries the quiet, grounding energy of the forest floor.

The base is a cool sage and grey-green serpentine, heavily mottled with a fine granular texture that catches light across its polished surface. Deeper olive and charcoal patches move through the stone in soft, irregular clouds, with flashes of brighter apple-green where the serpentine is purest. Ruby inclusions appear as warm reddish-brown and burgundy concentrations distributed throughout — not gem-quality ruby, but the same corundum mineral in its raw, matrix form, adding depth and contrast to the overall composition.

A rare and exceptional red amethyst from Uruguay, where iron-rich conditions during crystal formation produce the deep burgundy-red colouring that sets these specimens apart from conventional amethyst.

The druzy face is densely packed with small, glittering crystals in a rich wine-red to deep burgundy, catching the light across the entire surface. Scattered throughout are distinct clusters of larger, rounded crystal formations sitting proud of the main druzy field — darker and more opaque, in deep plum tones, they add considerable textural depth and visual interest to the piece. A wide band of polished agate surrounds the crystal face — cream, grey, and teal-green in concentric layers — giving the piece a natural, oval frame. The reverse is a smooth, polished chalcedony in warm caramel and grey tones with natural inclusions and swirling patterns visible within. A substantial, weighty piece that commands attention from every angle.

Red amethyst carries the spiritual properties of amethyst — calm, clarity, and higher connection — amplified by the grounding, energising quality of the iron that gives it its colour. Blue Agate is a banded variety of Chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of Quartz, whose blue tones come from light scattering within the fine silica structure rather than from a single colouring mineral — the same optical effect that makes the sky blue. The yellow inclusions are zones of iron oxide-stained Chalcedony formed during the same slow crystallisation process, as silica-rich fluids deposited successive layers within a cavity in volcanic rock. The translucency is a mark of high quality material with minimal impurities in the silica matrix.
