A compact prismatic column, opaque and dark at the surface with strong vertical striations running the full length. Astrophyllite Cabochon | Rectangular | Russia

A polished rectangular astrophyllite cabochon from Russia, available in two individual pieces — select your preferred variant (A or B) from the options below.

Each cab features a creamy off-white feldspar base, polished to a smooth dome. Piece A is slim and elongated with a light, airy patterning — astrophyllite inclusions scattered across the face in small, angular fragments of deep black and dark brown, with occasional copper-bronze flash. Piece B is more compact with a bold, mosaic-like character — chunky, blocky inclusions densely distributed across the face, giving it a rich, heavily patterned appearance. Both have a flat back.

A collector-grade eudialite slice from the Kola Peninsula, Russia — one of the world’s only significant sources of this rare zirconium silicate mineral.

One face is fully polished to a high mirror finish, revealing the complex mineral landscape within: vivid magenta-pink eudialite rosettes — some small and scattered, others large and boldly defined — burst across a dark aegirine matrix. White and pale grey feldspar fills the spaces between, creating a striking three-colour composition. A band of deep black aegirine runs diagonally across the upper left, adding strong graphic contrast. The reverse is unpolished, showing the raw, natural character of the stone. At just 5mm thick, the piece has an almost architectural quality — substantial in surface area, surprisingly light in hand.

A substantial dravite crystal from the renowned May Downs Station locality near Mt Isa, Queensland — one of Australia's most celebrated tourmaline-producing regions.

The piece is a deep, opaque brown with a striking metallic sheen across the primary prism faces, where the surface catches light with an almost graphitic lustre. Strong vertical striations run the full length of the crystal, and the naturally bevelled termination shows clean, well-defined facets. The reverse and sides reveal a more textured, granular surface with pale white matrix threading through the cleavage planes. Tisbury Starstone Freeform Cabochon | 4.2cm | UK

A particularly interesting Tisbury Starstone cabochon from Wiltshire, UK, and one that rewards close looking. The shape is a tapering rectangle — one edge wider than the other — and the piece has been carved at a slight angle through the coral structure, which means the surface reveals both the classic circular star patterns and the fine feathering effect of the coral's radiating internal structure simultaneously. It is the kind of cut that only happens when the carver works with the stone rather than against it, and the result is a piece with more visual depth than a straightforward face-on cut would produce. Tisbury Starstone is a fossilised coral found exclusively in the ancient soils of Tisbury, Wiltshire, formed approximately 145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic period when this part of England lay beneath a warm, shallow sea. The star patterns are cross-sections through the coral polyp structures, while the feathering reveals the same structures cut at a different angle — both visible here in the same piece because of the sideways orientation of the carve. It is composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), hardness 3–4 Mohs. Handle with care — fossilised coral is fragile and should not be dropped or knocked against harder surfaces.

Grape Agate is a purple botryoidal Chalcedony found exclusively in this region, its distinctive grape-like formations developing as silica-rich hydrothermal fluids slowly deposit layer upon layer of Chalcedony within volcanic rock cavities over millions of years.
