Each piece shares the same dramatic character: tightly packed rhombohedral cobaltoan calcite crystals in a rich, saturated raspberry to crimson-pink, densely coated with bright emerald-green malachite that sits in the recesses and across the crystal faces like a fine dusting of colour. The reverse of each piece reveals the raw grey-white matrix — striated, layered, and sparkly — showing the natural cleavage of the host rock. Dulcote Agate is one of Britain's most visually striking agates, quarried from a single site near Wells in Somerset. Each slice is a one-off — no two are alike.

These slices display the full drama of Dulcote's signature patterning: vivid brick-red and terracotta banding sweeps across a ground of cream and pale lavender chalcedony, punctuated by orbicular eye formations, fine white lace lines, and in some pieces, a central druzy quartz cavity that catches light like a geode. The polished faces are glassy and smooth; the natural edges retain the raw, unworked rind of the original nodule.

Agate works with the Root and Sacral Chakras, supporting stability, courage, and a grounded sense of self. A deeply protective stone with a strong connection to the land it comes from.

The piece is a rich, deep green with a slightly waxy surface and natural translucency on the thinner edges, where the colour lightens to a brighter, almost glassy tone. The form retains the characteristic hexagonal habit of beryl, with rough, unworked faces and a dark matrix clinging to the base.
