Dactylioceras Ammonite in Algal Nodule 0.98KG, Lower Jurassic, Yorkshire UK

Location: Lower Jurassic, Whitby, Yorkshire

This natural Dactylioceras ammonite originates from the Lower Jurassic deposits of Yorkshire, an area internationally recognised for its exceptionally preserved ammonite fauna. The ammonite is set within a naturally rounded nodule shaped sedimentary bed, most likely formed from compacted clay rich marine sediments typical of this period.

The pink coating is fossilised calcareous algae, formed in shallow warm marine environments where algae contributed calcium carbonate to the surrounding sediment, creating a limestone matrix with natural pink tones caused by mineral impurities. The small indents and winding surface markings are trace fossils known as bioturbation, preserving the activity of ancient worms and marine organisms burrowing through soft sea floor sediment and representing original biological features rather than damage.

Spiritually the ammonite is often seen as a symbol of continuity, evolution and natural flow, reflecting the steady unfolding of life over time and encouraging grounding, balance and trust in long term growth.

This ammonite is not suitable for water cleansing and should be kept dry, with cleaning limited to gentle dusting using a soft dry cloth or brush.

If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to Tali and Loz at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping.
