Its name derives from its striking resemblance to the eye of a tiger, with its radiant bands reflecting light in a similar way. Red Tiger's Eye is formed through the alteration of crocidolite, a blue asbestos mineral. Over time, the iron within the crocidolite oxidises, which gives it its distinctive red-brown colour. The shimmering effect known as chatoyancy, or "cat's eye effect," is caused by the parallel intergrowth of quartz fibres within the stone. This unique optical phenomenon creates a beautiful iridescent band that seems to move across the surface of the stone when viewed from different angles.

Import Duties & Taxes (outside the UK)

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and Tali and Loz encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to Tali and Loz at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.
