Alabaster is a fine-grained variety of Gypsum, a calcium sulfate mineral forming through the evaporation of ancient mineral-rich waters. Its notably low Mohs hardness of just 2 has made it prized by sculptors and craftspeople for thousands of years, from ancient Egypt through to the Renaissance.
Alabaster carries a gentle, purifying energy associated with clarity, peace, and fresh beginnings, connected to the Sacral Chakra and encouraging creativity and inner comfort.
