Tisbury Starstone is a fossilised coral found exclusively in the ancient soils of Tisbury, Wiltshire, formed approximately 145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic period when this part of England lay beneath a warm, shallow sea. The characteristic star and feather-like patterns are the preserved skeletal structures of coral polyps, their intricate geometry locked in stone over millions of years of gradual mineralisation. It is composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), hardness 3–4 Mohs. Handle with care — fossilised coral is fragile and should not be dropped or knocked against harder surfaces.

This 183g specimen (9.4x6x2.5cm) from Les Courtes in the Talèfre Basin of the Mont Blanc Massif, France displays the characteristic twisted growth that defines a true Gwindel, where the Quartz develops with a gentle rotational structure rather than forming straight prismatic points. Natural Chlorite inclusions are visible as soft green mineral traces within the crystal, reflecting the mineral-rich Alpine fissure environment in which it formed. Gwindels are among the rarest natural growth formations of Quartz, occurring only under very specific geological conditions.

This Vanadinite specimen originates from the Aouli Mine in Mibladen, Morocco, a locality internationally recognised for producing some of the world’s finest Vanadinite crystals. The specimen displays rich red to orange tones with naturally formed hexagonal crystal shapes and a bright, lustrous surface.

Vanadinite is a lead vanadate mineral belonging to the Vanadate group and structurally related to the Apatite group. It forms as a secondary mineral within the oxidation zones of lead ore deposits, where vanadium rich fluids react with existing lead minerals.
