A substantial sphalerite specimen from the celebrated Picos de Europa mining district in Santander, northern Spain — one of Europe's most historically significant sources of this mineral, and one that consistently produces material of exceptional resinous lustre and internal fire.

The front face reads dark at first — a dense, near-black brown mass with the characteristic adamantine sheen of iron-rich sphalerite. Hold it to the light and the surface opens up: patches of translucent amber push through the dark exterior, glowing from within and hinting at the warmth concealed inside. The flat reverse face tells a different story entirely — golden highlights streak across the surface in vivid veins, and the translucent amber is far more prevalent here, the mineral thinning enough to reveal its true colour and depth. A substantial green onyx tower from India with exceptional banding — one of the most painterly examples of this material we have handled.

The colour story runs from a warm amber-orange crown, through bands of sage and celadon green, into a series of fine terracotta, coral, and dusty rose stripes across the mid-section, before settling into a cool, translucent pale green at the base. The banding is fluid and organic, with each layer varying in width and intensity — no two faces read the same. The polish is high and glassy, allowing light to pass through the thinner sections and illuminate the layering from within. At 25 × 9.4 × 7.7cm and 3.24kg, this is a commanding display piece.

A collector-grade eudialite slice from the Kola Peninsula, Russia — one of the world’s only significant sources of this rare zirconium silicate mineral.

One face is fully polished to a high mirror finish, revealing the complex mineral landscape within: vivid magenta-pink eudialite rosettes — some small and scattered, others large and boldly defined — burst across a dark aegirine matrix. White and pale grey feldspar fills the spaces between, creating a striking three-colour composition. From the Chala Mine in Spahievo, Bulgaria — a locality producing some of the most pyrite-dominant amethyst specimens in the world.

On this piece, pyrite is the headline act. Bright, brassy micro-crystalline pyrite blankets the face in a near-continuous metallic crust, with violet amethyst points visible beneath — purple windows glowing through a golden lattice. A substantial and beautifully polished Serpentine freeform from Madagascar — sold locally under the trade name Green Opal — with a colour that is immediately arresting: a vivid, almost luminous lime-green with a fine granular texture that gives the surface a soft, organic quality.

The dominant face is a clean, bright yellow-green, while the reverse reveals a large warm amber-orange inclusion — a natural iron oxide staining within the serpentine matrix — that contrasts beautifully against the green. Broad and rounded, self-standing on a flat base, with a high mirror polish across all faces. At 3.72kg it has real weight and presence.

Serpentine is not a single mineral but a group of magnesium silicate minerals — most commonly antigorite, lizardite, and chrysotile — formed through the metamorphic alteration of olivine and pyroxene in ultramafic rocks. A near-kilogram malachite stalactite from the Democratic Republic of Congo — one of the world's great copper-belt localities and the source of some of the finest malachite specimens in existence.

The surface is covered entirely in tightly packed botryoidal orbs ranging from small, intricate formations to large, rounded domes, all in a vivid, saturated emerald green. Each orb has a characteristic concentric centre, visible across the specimen, giving the surface an almost cellular quality. At the top, a natural cavity reveals a cluster of druzy crystals in silver-grey — a striking contrast to the green exterior. The reverse shows the raw, unformed underside of the stalactite, with pale matrix and additional malachite growth.
