A petite but vivid Ethiopian opal cabochon cut in a classic teardrop form — warm honey-yellow body colour with an exceptional play of colour that belies its tiny scale.

The body tone is a rich amber-gold, semi-transparent and glowing with internal warmth. Across the domed surface, broad flashes of green, teal, and orange roll and shift with every movement — the orange concentrated in a swirling pool at the base, the greens spreading across the upper face in overlapping bands. The profile reveals a well-proportioned cabochon dome with a flat base, polished to a high lustre throughout. Presented in a black gem box.

Opal is associated with the Crown and Sacral chakras, amplifying creativity, emotional expression, and spontaneity. Ethiopian opal in particular is considered a stone of inspiration and joy, connected to Libra and Cancer and associated with the planet Venus.

Opal is an amorphous hydrated silica mineraloid rather than a true crystalline mineral. Ethiopian opal is a hydrophane variety — meaning it can absorb water — which causes temporary changes in transparency and can suppress play of colour while wet. The spectral flashes seen across this cabochon result from diffraction of light through a regular internal lattice of silica spheres; the swirling orange and green patterns are characteristic of the broad colour zones found in Wollo Province material. The teardrop form is cut and polished to maximise the play of colour across the dome.

shipping times are highly country depending, but currently we experience a 5-20 days delivery time.

Import Duties & Taxes (outside the UK)

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and Tali and Loz encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to Tali and Loz at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.
