A genuine moldavite tektite from the Czech Republic — one of the rarest and most sought-after minerals on Earth, formed not from the ground beneath us, but from the skies above.

This piece has a distinctive moon-like form — curved and rounded on the front with a naturally flat back, giving it a satisfying shape. Rich surface texture covers the piece throughout, with the etched, wrinkled character that moldavite is so celebrated for. A characterful and tactile piece. Moldavite, also called Vltavín, is a tektite — “terrestrial debris” formed approximately 15 million years ago when a meteorite struck the Nördlinger Ries Crater in what is now southern Germany. A substantial and beautifully formed Indochinite tektite from the Indochinese Peninsula — one of the most prolific tektite strewn fields on Earth, produced by a meteorite impact event approximately 790,000 years ago.

Deep jet-black throughout, this piece has the characteristic sculpted, flow-textured surface of a well-preserved Indochinite — ridged, pitted, and rippled from its violent journey through the atmosphere. The form is elongated and rounded, sitting comfortably in the hand, with a subtle glassy sheen where the texture smooths between the deeper grooves. At 53.2g it is a notably weighty example for its size.

Indochinites are a natural glass formed when a large meteorite impact melts and ejects terrestrial rock, which then solidifies during atmospheric flight. The Indochinese strewn field spans Southeast Asia and parts of Australia, and the impact event is dated to approximately 790,000 years ago. From the celebrated Tharsis mining district of Andalusia, Spain — one of the few localities in the world known to produce goethite with this quality of iridescence.

The surface is entirely botryoidal, built up from tightly packed rounded orbs in deep charcoal and iron-black. Across this, a vivid iridescent film shifts between crimson, magenta, teal-green, and violet depending on the angle and light source — the effect is almost oil-slick in its intensity, with pockets of brighter colour concentrated along the ridges and edges of the botryoidal formations. The close-up shots show the full complexity of the colour play particularly well.

Acquired from an old private collection, this Ocean Jasper palmstone is a study in green — and it offers two distinct readings depending on which face you look at, with the banding running vertically on both sides.

One side is the more complex of the two: green orbs are the dominant presence, but pink and white colouring threads through them, softening the green and adding warmth. Scattered across this face are a few tiny pockets of translucent quartz, small and sparkling, that catch the light and add a quiet mineral detail to the surface.

The other side is cleaner and more graphic: green orbs again, this time with creamy banding running in vertical sweeps through the piece, giving it a structured, almost striped quality that contrasts nicely with the more varied face opposite.
