Muonionalusta is an iron meteorite classified within the IVA group, discovered in northern Scandinavia and estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old. Composed primarily of iron and nickel, it formed within the core of a differentiated asteroid before reaching Earth. When cut and etched, it reveals the distinctive Widmanstätten pattern, a natural crystalline structure created through extremely slow cooling in space.
