Sourced from the legendary Messina mine in South Africa — the only commercial source of gem-quality Ajoite in Quartz in the world — this 1.12kg tower is a rare find by any measure.

The quartz body is largely clear to milky white, shot through with soft blue-green Ajoite inclusions that pool and drift in wispy, cloud-like formations. The colour sits somewhere between seafoam and pale teal, deepening where the inclusions concentrate and fading to near-transparency at the edges. The prism is broad and columnar, with deeply striated faces running the full length of the crystal. Colour zones from vivid raspberry-pink on the front face — almost glowing under light — to deep wine-burgundy on the reverse, with dark inclusions threading through the interior. The termination end is naturally cleaved rather than faceted, giving it a raw, unworked character.
