A truly spectacular 610g Blue Baryte specimen measuring 105x143x53mm, sourced from the renowned Cavnic Mine in Romania, one of Europe's most celebrated localities for this mineral. The front face reads dark at first — a dense, near-black brown mass with the characteristic adamantine sheen of iron-rich sphalerite. Hold it to the light and the surface opens up: patches of translucent amber push through the dark exterior, glowing from within and hinting at the warmth concealed inside. The flat reverse face tells a different story entirely — golden highlights streak across the surface in vivid veins, and the translucent amber is far more prevalent here, the mineral thinning enough to reveal its true colour and depth. Sphalerite with Minor Smithsonite on White Quartz | Nenthead, Cumbria

A striking large-scale mineral specimen from Boundary Gate Pocket, Nenthead, Cumbria, featuring lustrous dark sphalerite set across a white quartz matrix.

The front presents a dramatic contrast of metallic black to deep brown sphalerite crystals, bright white quartz and warm earthy accents from the associated mineral growth. The reverse reveals further texture and colour, giving this substantial specimen plenty of detail to explore from different angles.

Bright, brassy micro-crystalline pyrite blankets the face in a near-continuous metallic crust, with violet amethyst points visible beneath — purple windows glowing through a golden lattice. Catch it in direct light and the surface ignites. The profile reveals the piece's true character: elongated amethyst points running along the edge, partially draped in pyrite, giving a clear sense of the co-crystallisation in cross-section. A beautifully layered display piece combining Watermelon Tourmaline, Cleavelandite, and Smokey Quartz in a complex pegmatitic formation.

This 215g specimen (approximately 8.5x6.4x4.7cm, 304g including stand) from Brazil features translucent Smokey Quartz with Watermelon Tourmaline running through the crystal showing natural variation in pink and green, pale bladed Cleavelandite (a variety of Albite Feldspar) adding texture and contrast, and subtle Lepidolite inclusions bringing a lilac shimmer. Each mineral records a different stage of growth within the pegmatitic formation.

Watermelon Tourmaline combines the loving energy of pink with the growth and abundance of green. Smokey Quartz grounds and protects, while Cleavelandite and Lepidolite add calm and emotional clarity.
