Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock rather than a single mineral, formed when limestone is transformed by intense heat and pressure in contact with igneous intrusions. Its colour comes primarily from Lazurite, a sodalite-group mineral, and the gold flecks are natural Pyrite — iron sulphide — that crystallises within the matrix during metamorphism. The white veining, where present, is Calcite. The Madani mines in Afghanistan have been producing Lapis Lazuli for over 6,000 years and remain the source of the finest material in the world, prized for its intense, saturated blue and well-distributed Pyrite.

This 2.8kg specimen (290x130x65mm) features multiple hexagonal Aquamarine crystals in soft glacial blue, set against a matrix of silvery Muscovite mica that catches the light with a fine, layered sparkle. The Pingwu Beryl Mine in Huya Township, Mianyang, Sichuan is internationally recognised for producing some of the finest Aquamarine-in-mica associations in the world, a result of the slow crystallisation of mineral-rich fluids within granite pegmatites deep beneath the Sichuan mountains.

This 249.2g specimen (approximately 61x67x62mm) from the Gunheath Pit in St Austell, Cornwall is dominated by vivid sky blue Turquoise coating that wraps dramatically across the piece. Turquoise forms as a secondary phosphate mineral through the interaction of copper, aluminium, and phosphate-rich groundwater, with copper giving it its characteristic sky blue colouring. A smooth, well-proportioned heart in Dumortierite quartz, carrying one of the most distinctive blues in the mineral world.

The colour is a consistent mid cornflower-blue, evenly distributed across the surface with a fine granular texture. Scattered throughout are small dark inclusions — navy and near-black specks and short fibrous streaks — the characteristic patterning of Dumortierite within its quartz matrix.
