Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock rather than a single mineral, formed when limestone is transformed by intense heat and pressure in contact with igneous intrusions. Its colour comes primarily from Lazurite, a sodalite-group mineral, and the gold flecks are natural Pyrite — iron sulphide — that crystallises within the matrix during metamorphism. The white veining, where present, is Calcite. The Madani mines in Afghanistan have been producing Lapis Lazuli for over 6,000 years and remain the source of the finest material in the world, prized for its intense, saturated blue and well-distributed Pyrite.

From the Tharsis mining district of Andalusia, Spain — one of the world's foremost localities for iridescent goethite.

A substantial, blocky specimen with a fully botryoidal surface built from large, rounded orbs in deep burgundy and iron-black. Across the surface, a vivid iridescent film catches the light in flashes of red, green, and rainbow colour, concentrated along the ridges and curves of the formations. The base tone is a rich, dark purple-brown that shifts warmly in different lighting conditions.

A fine rubellite tourmaline from the renowned Paraíba region of Brazil, one of the world's most celebrated tourmaline localities.

The colour is a layered mix of soft pink and lilac, shifting between the two depending on the light, with bright silvery mica catching across the surface and adding a metallic flash to the overall effect.
