Amphibole Quartz Tower | 35mm | Brazil

A polished amphibole quartz tower from Brazil, densely packed with fibrous mineral inclusions that give this piece its extraordinary depth of colour and pattern.

The body is a rich interplay of deep rust-red, warm olive-green, and golden-brown fibrous streaks running diagonally through a translucent quartz host. The inclusions — a mix of actinolite, hornblende, and iron oxide minerals — create a layered, almost painterly effect, with no two faces showing the same arrangement. This 71.2g Carnelian heart (51x60x20mm) from Brazil is carved to reveal a stunning open white Quartz druzy cavity at its centre. The outer shell is a gorgeous warm honey-orange Carnelian, smooth and glassy on the reverse, while the face opens to expose sparkling white Quartz crystals that catch the light with a bright, clean shimmer. Both Carnelian and Quartz are varieties of silica, with Carnelian coloured by iron oxide inclusions and the white Quartz druzy forming within natural cavities during hydrothermal processes.

Carnelian is a stone of vitality, courage, and creative motivation. The white Quartz amplifies and purifies that energy, adding clarity and intention to the combination.

A deep cobalt-blue body with a fine granular texture throughout — the colour is dense and saturated at the upper body and termination, softening into pale powder-blue and white clouding toward the mid and lower sections. Sweeping bands of deeper blue cut diagonally across the faces, giving each tower a painterly, almost marbled quality. The polish is smooth and even, with a well-formed six-sided termination.
