Ein beachtlicher Dravitkristall aus der berühmten May Downs Station bei Mt Isa, Queensland – einer der bekanntesten Turmalin-produzierenden Regionen Australiens.
Das Stück ist tiefschwarz und undurchsichtig mit einem auffälligen metallischen Glanz auf den primären Prismenflächen, wo die Oberfläche das Licht mit einem fast graphitischen Schimmer einfängt. Starke vertikale Streifen verlaufen über die gesamte Länge des Kristalls, und die natürlich abgeschrägte Endfläche zeigt saubere, klar definierte Facetten. Die Rückseite und die Seiten offenbaren eine strukturiertere, körnige Oberfläche mit blasser weißer Matrix, die durch die Spaltflächen zieht. Massiv und schwer mit 122,44 g und 63 × 33 × 28 mm, ist dies ein Stück, das auf jedem Regal oder in jeder Vitrine Präsenz zeigt.
Dravit ist das magnesiumreiche Mitglied der Turmalingruppe, das mit den Wurzel- und Erd-Stern-Chakren assoziiert ist.
