Seriphos-Quarz ist eine seltene und auffällige Form von grünem Quarz, die nur auf der griechischen Insel Serifos in der Ägäis gefunden wird. Bekannt für seine lebendige Farbe und scharf definierten Kristallformen, ist er eine der markantesten regionalen Quarzvarietäten der Welt.

Seriphos-Quarz bildet sich in metamorphen Gesteinen, die durch intensive Hitze und Druck tief im Erdinneren verändert wurden. Während dieses Prozesses bewegen sich heiße, mineralreiche Flüssigkeiten durch Risse im Gestein und beginnen zu kristallisieren. Die Färbung kann von zartem Hellgrün über tiefes Oliv bis hin zu bläulichen Tönen reichen, abhängig vom spezifischen Gleichgewicht der Mineraleinschlüsse und den geologischen Bedingungen zum Zeitpunkt der Bildung. Seriphos-Quarz wird ausschließlich auf Serifos gefunden, wo historische Bergbaustätten Taschen wunderschön geformter Kristalle freilegten, die auf einer Matrix saßen oder in strahlenförmigen Clustern wuchsen.
