A gorgeous one-off Flower Agate flame from Madagascar with an unusually deep, rusty orange base colour — a striking departure from the pale pink most Flower Agate displays, and one of the most distinctive examples of this stone we have had in. The plume formations are bold and clearly defined, standing out beautifully against the warm, earthy base. One piece, sold as seen.

Please note: this piece has natural internal cracks, clearly visible in the photos. These are entirely natural features of the stone and do not affect its structural integrity.

Flower Agate is a variety of Chalcedony discovered in Madagascar in 2018. The flower-like formations are three-dimensional plumes of opaque Chalcedony suspended within a translucent base, visible from the surface as petal-shaped inclusions that genuinely resemble blossoms frozen in stone. The orange and rusty tones in this piece come from iron oxide present during crystallisation — the same chemistry that colours many Agates and Jaspers, here producing something genuinely unusual within the Flower Agate family.

Flower Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of Quartz (SiO₂), discovered in Madagascar in 2018. The characteristic flower-like formations are three-dimensional plumes of opaque pink and white Chalcedony that nucleate and grow outward within a translucent pink Chalcedony base as silica-rich hydrothermal fluids slowly infiltrate and fill cavities in volcanic host rock. Viewed from the polished surface, these plumes appear as circular or petal-shaped inclusions — cross-sections through the three-dimensional growth structures beneath. The pink colouration is attributed to trace iron and manganese oxides incorporated during crystallisation. Hardness: 6.5–7 Mohs. Crystal system: Trigonal.

Import Duties & Taxes (outside the UK)

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and Tali and Loz encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to Tali and Loz at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.
